Roastery Assistant — Hermanos Colombian Coffee Roasters
At Hermanos Colombian Coffee Roasters, we’re passionate about bringing the finest Colombian coffee to life — from sourcing at origin to sharing it across our cafés, wholesale partners, and online customers. With a growing presence in London and beyond, we’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Roastery Assistant to join our dedicated production team.
About the Role:
As a Roastery Assistant, you’ll work at the heart of our operations, supporting the production and dispatch of freshly roasted coffee. You’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring all orders — whether destined for our cafés, wholesale accounts, or online subscribers — are packed accurately, efficiently, and with care. This role also requires clear and professional communication with internal teams and external partners, as well as basic administrative tasks using Microsoft Office tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Pack, label, and grind coffee orders for retail, wholesale, and web customers
Manage order fulfilment and support daily dispatch/logistics
Communicate with shops, wholesale clients, and online customers regarding orders or deliveries
Assist with green coffee intake and prepare for roasting production
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the roastery and storage areas
Accurately record batch information, weights, and production logs of roasted coffee
When needed, assist the line manager with the tracking and restocking packaging materials, cleaning supplies, brewing accessories, and all other fulfilment-related components.
Support inventory and stock rotation of green and roasted coffee, packaging, and materials
Assist the roastery team with stock takes/inventory - recording stock figures.
Use Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook) to track production, input data, and manage order info
Manage fulfilment software and courier platforms, such as Shopify, ShipStation, DHL, FedEx, etc.
Participate in quality control processes, including cuppings and tastings
Support marketing and operations during new product launches and seasonal changes
Contribute ideas to improve workflow, packaging, and sustainability efforts
What We’re Looking For:
Strong work ethic and high attention to detail
Clear and confident communication skills (written and verbal)
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and grow
Ability to work on your feet and safely lift/move heavy items (training provided)
Dependable, positive, and thrives in a collaborative team environment
Passion for specialty coffee is a plus — but not essential
What You’ll Get:
Competitive salary
A paid day off on your birthday
20 days of holidays a year
A free bag of coffee every month
Fresh coffee every day, regular cuppings, and generous staff discounts
Supportive and friendly team culture
The opportunity to help shape a growing, independent coffee brand
Pathways for development, learning, and creative contribution
